Integrated Restoration Technique

75-120 minutes: $145-$215

Integrated Restoration Technique

STRUCTURAL ALIGNMENT& INTEGRATION

Sports massage and rehabilitation therapy combined with Structural alignment for treatment and pain relief.

Integrated Restoration Technique (IRT) is a comprehensive approach toward treatment of soft tissue pain, dysfunction and sport performance utilizing the following:

1. Structural alignment & integration

Structural Alignment & Integration is a system by which the body is ‘remodeled’ to enhance the major segments along a vertical line. Through soft tissue osteopathic, myofascial and resistive stretching techniques, combined with education, this process begins. The goal is to achieve a well supported structure from top to bottom, side to side and front to back.

Imagine the difference between the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Eiffel tower: One is well grounded and one requires extra support. In our bodies that support has to come from hypertonic and tense muscle groups which have the potential to create both physical and psychological maladies. Awareness is the beginning of change.

2. Structural Assessment

Assess clients’ structure by looking for postural abnormalities, relationships of important anatomical “landmarks,” and by palpating for tissue texture, tone and temperature.

3. Myofascial Mobilization

A gentle but highly-effective stretching of fascia (a 3-d web of connective tissue found throughout the body- often referred to as the organ of form).

Two main approaches to facial release are: direct and indirect techniques.

4. Muscle Energy Technique

Developed over 50 years ago, MET’s are resisted stretches that employ no greater than 20% effort. Stretches are taken further until a greater range of motion is attained.

Because of the ease of contraction, MET’s are safe and appropriate for the most sensitive of clients.

5. Russian Medical Massage

Effleurage (gliding), Petrissage (kneading), Friction (rubbing), Vibration, and Tapotement (cupping) are revisited with intention as the key.

Use of these strokes will calm or to stimulate, to increase circulation and for the treatment of specific condition. The Russians have been doing scientific medical research on the effects of various massage techniques since 1881. Each stroke is designed with specific intentions in mind.

IRT Structural Integration

75-120 minutes minutes: $145-$215

IRT Structural Integrations employs soft tissue manipulation with the goal of realigning the body in relationship to the force of gravity. The theory underlying structural integration asserts that often the body's connective tissue is "bound up," thus restricting opposing muscles from working independently of one another. Thus, we aim to loosen the restricted connective tissue by using a practice known as myofascial mobilization & myoskelatal alignment. Practitioners typically preform a specific sequence of ten sessions lasting between 75 and 90 minutes in order to "unlock" the whole body.

Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage

60-120 minutes: $120-$165

Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, MLD can be used for a wide range of purposes for primary & secondary lymphatic swelling such as faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy as well as plastic surgery recovery,  and strengthened resistance to illness. It is a great adjunct to a cancer survivor's tool box to reduce & maintain lymphedema.

Neuromuscular Therapy

45-120 minutes minutes: $100-$165

Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is an approach to soft tissue manual medicine. Neuromuscular therapy uses a holistic approach towards healing, emphasizing and stimulating the body's natural ability to heal itself. Neuromuscular therapy also enhances the function of joints and muscles, and accelerates the overall healing process by facilitating the release of endorphins.

Muscles that are in spasm will be painful to the touch. The pain is caused by ischemic muscle tissue. Ischemia means the muscle is lacking proper blood flow, usually due to the muscle spasm. This in turn creates the following undesirable process of pain spasm pain cycle.

After the muscle is relaxed through massage therapy, the trigger point or tender point will be released from the muscle, and the muscle should start receiving enough blood and oxygen.  NMT involves applying focused pressure onto specific points of the body called "trigger points". Trigger points are places in the body that can cause pain to other areas of the body. For instance a trigger point on the hamstring might cause pain in the lower back. These trigger points are dissolved by applying direct pressure to the muscle for several seconds with either the hands, fingers, or t-bars. Through several sessions of treatment , trigger points are eliminated, restoring full function and health to the body.

Neuromuscular therapy may feel painful at first, but the muscle striping, static pressure and micro friction of the treatment should alleviate the muscle spasm. At this point, it is extremely important to communicate with the massage therapist regarding the pressure - whether the pressure is too much, too little, getting  better, getting worse. The therapist should listen and respond accordingly. The massage therapy pressure should never be overly painful. In fact, most people describe the pressure as “good pain”. Productive in Nature and something you can settle into and manage.

Following a neuromuscular therapy massage, any soreness that presents itself should fade after twenty-four to seventy-two hours. The muscles that were tight should remain noticeably more relaxed for four to fourteen days, depending on mental emotional or mechanical stress.

TMJ & Anterior Cervical

30-120 minutes: $80-$215

Addresses forward head posture and TMJ Dysfunction (muscle spasm, joint compression, and imbalance) using NMT and myofascial mobilizations. Overly tight muscles happens as a protective mechanism to prevent the teeth from breaking the disc apart due to the grinding pressure of TMJ compression and to prevent the disc from breaking and grinding apart from the same forces, The musculature will eventually become fibrous from exhaustion. Simply put, structural imbalance leads to overly tight muscles in attempts to protect the teeth and joint. Something in the kinesiological biomechanics needs to be addressed. Following Factors that can contribute: Malocclusion, Position of the Joint, Bruxism.

Reducing Dislocation with Reciprocal Clicking-  Imbalanced yet Still functional with clicking

Non-Reducing Dislocation/ Closed Lock- The disc is literally locked out & Jaw is Locked Shut and can not open mouth

Open Locked Joint- Disc is caught over the forward lip of socket due to moving to far forward during opening excursion of condyle. Individuals have difficulty closing their mouth and are literally Locked Open

Myofascial Mobilization

30-120 minutes minutes: $80-$215

Myofascial Mobilization is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalancing the entire body. It does this by using techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. It is a 3-d web of connective tissue that runs continous and contiguous through the body. Langevin suggest the fascia to be a metasystem, connecting and influencing all other sytems. Direct myofascial mobilization is sometimes mistaken for deep tissue work. Indirect mobilization applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain. This is an essential part of facilitating overall length and balance.

Clinical Sports Massage

30-120 minutes minutes: $80-$215

Clinical Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

Muscle Energy Technique

30-120 minutes: $80-$215

Developed over 50 years ago by Fred Mitchell, DO. MET's are a series of resisted stretches that employ no greater than 20% effort intended to restore normal tone to muscle. Stretches are taken further until a greater range of motion is attained. Local circulation is increased as well. MET's are primary for balancing structure. Because of the ease of contraction, MET's are safe and appropriate for the most sensitive of patients.

CranioSacral (SM)

30-120 minutes minutes: $80-$215

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful energetic technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the cranium, spine and sacrum. This system is considered a major part of the central nervous system. Developed by physician William Sutherland & later John E. Upledger,DO.,OMM. Usually treatment consist of several sessions which help balance the body, align the spine & to allow the smooth flow of spinal fluid. This therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Positional Release Technique

30-120 minutes: $80-$215

Positional Release Technique is a method of total body evaluation using tender points (TP's) and a position of ease (POE) to resolve the associated dysfunction. It is well suited for patients that are in a great deal of discomfort because the person's body part(s) are moved away from the resistance barrier, i.e., the direction of greatest ease. This is all performed passively. Once position of greatest comfort while palpating the most severe TP as a guide for POE is found it is held for no less than 90 seconds.

Restorative Technique

15-120 minutes: $45- $215

This technique looks for muscles that are restricted, not fully functioning, looks for suppleness. Does the muscle easily turn on? Or is it stuck it a state of not firing and unable to do it’s job?  Looks at the supporting and opposing muscles. It is different from MET’s & Isometric stretches in that it is attempting to be sustained for 30 seconds in each position to target different fibers of the muscle.

Usui Tibetan Reiki

30-120 minutes: $80-$215

Usui Tibetan Reiki is not all that different from Usui Reiki, but these both differ in their origins. Usui Tibetan Reiki is based on the studies of Arthur Robertson’s Raku Kai Reiki. This style of reiki has four levels – Level I, II, Level IIIa and Level IIIb. Different thing about Usui Tibetan Reiki is the fact that it uses a few more healing attunements and various Tibetan symbols. This particular style of reiki was popularized by William Rand & Diane Stein. For further reading on Christianity and Reiki:

http://www.christianreiki.org/

History & Comparison:

Usui Tibetan Reiki, as noted above was built on the foundations of Raku Kai Reiki. Arthur Robertson developed it and he was a student of one of Takata’s 22 masters. This school of practice led to the development of Usui Tibetan Reiki, and also Vajra Reiki, Karuna Reiki and Tera Mai Reiki.

Mikao Usui was the creator of Reiki and his system of Usui Reiki is followed by people all round the globe. Usui Tibetan Reiki system is now often used oppositely with Usui Reiki – even though there are overall differences. Usui Tibetan Reiki takes portions of Usui Reiki and combines them with a powerful Tibetan method of attunement.

Another notable difference in Usui Tibetan Reiki is the number of different symbols used that are an elegant mixture of Sanskrit and Japanese Kanji. Generally, Tibetan Reiki is also responsible to describe Usui Tibetan Reiki and Tibetan-Usui Reiki and uses the original practices from Tibet. Tibetan Reiki makes use of the Tibetan Master Symbol – the Dumo – part of the William Rand system. Dumo is also referred to as the Tibetan Dai Ko Mio. Dai Ko Mio is used in Usui system mainly empowers other symbols, which are used for healing the body. Usui Master symbol ‘Dai Ko Mio’ roughly translates to “Great Being of the universe, shine on me, be my friend.”

In the Tibetan reiki system, the Tibetan Dai Ko Mio is thought to unify the mind and body. It supposedly works with fire in the base chakra by lighting the sacred flame – the Kundalini energy. This energy pulls negative energy and disease from your body & mind. The use of the Usui Tibetan Reiki master symbol creates strong connection between the physical and the Higher Self (Supreme Power). The strong connection allows unlimited power of Reiki to manifest on the physical plane.

Ingham Method Reflexology

30-120 minutes minutes: $80-$215

Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression. Reflexology can be dated back to 2330 B.C. by the Egyptian culture.
